Ideas as to why my cat is having trouble breathing?

It's like wheezing when she breaths in and almost like a snore when she exhales. The vet took x-rays and said they are clean - no signs of cancer, asthma, etc. They also did an HIV test and leukemia which were both negative. Any other ideas as to what it may be?
