Your dream appears to me to suggest that you've got something in your life that needs to be confronted (in your dream this is represented by the guy you are talking to) and you are confronting the issue which is represented by your mutual hugs and the chat for a while. The presence of your family and the security of the Giraffe were the support you needed to make the needed confrontation. This is only my non expert interpretation of your dream.
