How do i tell when a betta has laided her eggs?

because i am not sure wether my betta is a female or male, there is a bubble nest but, today when i checked on him/her i saw several little egg like things, i'm not sure how to describe them, also when i approach the tank, he/she flares his/her gills and wehn i put my hand near it gets mad, is it a female and male conjunction because i know only males make bubble nests and they are the ones that get mad when they see danger for their eggs and i know only females can lay the eggs so can somone please tell me? also if he/she has laid the eggs how do i care for them?
